I got inspired this day by peas, carrots, and hearts. Maybe I was hungry. This pendant is has a green mica clay and some bright orange with a silver hammered bail. After I antiqued it I fell in love with the orange color that developed. It looks so much like that old bakelite material (early plastic) that was popular in the 20s. Lots of things from telephones to utensils were made of bakelite. But, the ornamental things had a few different colors. One of the colors was really close to this orange. My muse is demanding more orange stuff. Dare I call it “Fakelite”?

The heart is about 2″ high made from antiqued polymer clay, buffed, polished, and finished with microcrystalline wax.

Does this pendant have the back to put oils?

No textured back on this one. I didn’t think of it yet. (:

I think this one is still my favorite so far.
