Portuguese Man-of-War

Description

• 11.5″ wide x 21″ long
• Mounted on 1″ thick wooden base
• 3-piece triptych mounted

I started this piece well over a month ago after my friend posted a jellyfish photo from the beach on Facebook. I got all these fantastic ideas about transparent clay and jillions of jellyfish tentacles weaving around an assortment of baubles and shapes and textures. I wanted a contrast between the top 1/3 and bottom 2/3 to differentiate between above and below the water. It didn’t turn out quite as expected – but creativity will do that to you sometimes.
