I loved Bugs Bunny as a kid and still do today. One of my favorite episodes is “What’s Opera Doc?” It features Bug’s Bunny being chased by Elmer Fudd through a parody of Richard Wagner’s 19th century operas.  It’s listed as one of the 50 greatest cartoons of all time.

My absolute favorite part is the big, fat, white horse that Bugs Bunny comes in on from the top of the mountain. I love that horse. I’ve been wanting to paint this for at least 15 years and I finally did it.

The canvas is a tryptic made of three canvases. The middle piece is 3′ x 3′ and the side canvases are 1′ x 3″. After about a month of work, I now have 5 feet of fat horse goodness. It’s all acrylic with a nice varnish to finish it off. It makes me smile.

Thank you! My friend from college, Paul – told me I was talking about doing this painting then. He called me “obsessed”. LOL. Glad I finally got it out of the my system.
