Blue Green Bracelet

After my last “heavy thinking” piece I wanted to work on something that was more frivolous and fun. I chose some colors I loved and started working!

I started with a mica-shift technique on the green layer. I love this technique. While you can clearly see the background pattern on the green areas, there is no texture at all. It is smooth. The mica particles in the clay are going different directions so you see a pattern. But, if you run your fingers across it, it is completely flat and smooth. I did cutouts and layered it with the blue and then finished it with all the little texture pinholes.

After it was done baking, I did my routine of hand sanding and polishing and added a magnetic clasp. I love magnetic clasps. They are quite strong and you don’t have to fiddle to get it on your wrist. Perfect for a bracelet.
