I needed a better title and picked “Entwined“. Everything I picked sounded too serious. I loved the idea of doing something in all silver that was organic. Then it needed something to offset it, so I decided on copper. There are elements of it that seem a little trite. But, the ideas were just sitting there and wanted to come out. So, I let them spill out. As I worked on it it made me think of high school. All full of anxiety and self-propagating bullshit.
Some people think that high school was the best time of their lives. Not me. With the exception of some high points, it was pretty miserable. My high school experience made me feel punished for being myself and awkward for trying to fit in. But, I doubt it was so different than most people’s experience.
I am especially fond of the root and stem looking bits.
Hiya Lena!!!
You’re especially fond of the root and stem system; you did the rose in silver … kind of dull silver … like you were hidden or obscured … it seems like this piece is about growth and flourishing even when you weren’t seen for the rose that you are … and even though the heart is copper, against the silver it looks kind of gold … so to me, in my silly art interpretations, I’d say something like: veiled rose with a heart of gold. I also noticed that on this piece, No Key. You’ve got a beautiful, patched, and pumping heart … and it’s locked away. It’ll only open for the right people who have the right key. :0) Well, that’s my silliness. Hope you like it. :0) I love this piece, Lena. It’s beautiful. And I agree … the roots and stem system is intriguing and is really the connection of the whole piece. Bravo!!! :0)
Thank you so much for the time you spent to give me your interpretation as well as the time you spend to take a look at what I’ve been working on. It’s so interesting to see what others think.
I think this might be my favorite piece so far. Not exactly sure what I’d call it, though I think I’d try to work with the themes of the heart being protected from the cold world outside the box. Something along those lines, anyway.
